Why do we feel the need to set these extreme New Year’s Resolutions, and then beat ourselves up when we fail to reach our unrealistic standards?
Goals like, lose 20 kilos in 2 months, quit sugar cold turkey, go to the gym every single day, or eliminate all stress. It’s no wonder 80% of people give up on their goals in the second week.
But, we’re not letting that happen this year! Here’s to attainable, sustainable 2022 New Year’s goals.

#1 Drink an extra glass of water a day!
Instead of creating a goal that involves removing something from your day, why not try adding something positive in to start. For instance, instead of saying drink less caffeine, start with drinking more water. It comes from a more empowering place that leaves you more likely to follow through!
Once you’ve integrated that daily cup of water into your healthy routine, then address those not-so-healthy habits with another micro goal! Want to cut back on coffee or alcohol? Slowly switch out your guilty beverage of choice for a healthier alternative. Again, start small! One cup a week is a good goal. Maybe you start the week with a cup of matcha instead of coffee or end the week with a kombucha instead of reaching for the wine. Once that feels manageable, continue building with small goals!
#2 Add serum to your skincare
Boost your skins radiance and hit your goal of achieving healthier, smoother and younger looking skin this year by adding a serum or 3 to your routine.

#3 Try a new smoothie each day!
Try a healthy alternative to curb the cravings and fill you up! Here are a couple of my fave’s:
This smoothie is filled with protein, good fats and fiber to keep your blood sugars stable and keep
you energised throughout the day.
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
½ frozen banana, sliced
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp almond butter
1 tsp MCT oil (optional)
1 tsp cacao powder
1 pinch sea salt
1 tsp stevia granules (optional)
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 cup ice cubes
cacao nibs, to serve
sunflower seeds, to serve
1. Place all of the ingredients into a high-powered blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a glass and top with crushed nuts and berries.
STRAWBERRY SMOOTHIE BOWL
The trick with low FODMAP smoothies is to go easy on the fruit. Stick to the serving sizes below for a happy tummy and a truly yummy smoothie.
⅝ frozen banana
12 strawberries, frozen
2 cup almond milk
2 pinch cinnamon
2 tbsp chia seeds
2 tbsp almond butter
2 tsp maple syrup (optional)
2 serving protein powder (optional)
1. Place all of the ingredients into a high-powered blender and blend until smooth.
2. Pour into a bowl and top with berries and desiccated coconut, if using.
#4 Compliment Yourself Every Day
Build up your self-worth, self-esteem, and confidence by increasing positive self-talk. Hello, compliments! Write yourself sticky notes and place them on the mirror, so you see them every day!
